The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to begin their own adventure, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
Per the DM, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to go next after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and advises that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as important members in the influential clan could assist the party reach locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:
- Thimble and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
