Residents observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that different parts across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of the state's eastern regions this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.

Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both regions.

Medical authorities alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the current weather patterns.
